The sound of slapping of cards on the floor of their tent reminded Fraser of the night he and Ray played for air after the Denny Scarpa case. Fraser remembered very distinctly catching a glimpse of Ray's collar bone, after Ray had undone the top button of his dress shirt.
Ray's voice startled Fraser from his memories. 'You okay? You zoned out for a minute.'
'I'm fine, thank you.'
Fraser looked up from his cards. Ray's cheeks were flushed and his hair seemed to glow in the lantern light. Before Fraser realized what he was doing he leaned over and brushed his lips against Ray's. Ray's lips were chapped from the cold and... still.
Fraser pulled away. 'I'm sorry, Ray. I...'
'It's okay. You just surprised me, is all. I just have two things to say to you.'
Fraser reached up to tug on the collar of his uniform, until he realized he was wearing a collarless shirt. Ray didn't seem angry, but Fraser would understand if Ray threatened to punch him in the head. 'Oh?'
Ray smiled and pulled Fraser closer. His warm breath on Fraser's neck made Fraser shudder. 'It's about time, and you wanna play Strip Poker?'
